Beach cot quilt

My partners nephew became a father recently to a beautiful boy.  Before he was born I was asked to make a cot quilt with a beach theme.  I used mostly fabric from +Thomas Knauer's "Flock" range as the colours were just right and also gave the quilt a modern look making it perfect for a young dad.  I quilted it myself using an assortment of patterns inspired by +Angela Walters  book "Free-motion Quilting".  It has been a fantastic learning experience and I now have some new skills!

A New Beginning

A new year is almost upon us, and what a year this has been!  2012 has been a year of ill health for so many people within my social circle, including myself.  The year has been very busy and although creativity has been frequently present, I still have not achieved near enough of the goals I had set for myself.  Now the festive season is here and the family celebrations will soon be over leading us all into a new year and a new beginning.  I welcome 2013 with loads of positivity, because life is too short to dwell on the crazy year that has been.  2013 will be a year of achievement, a year of sharing and a year of living a happier, better life (not to mention a new blog).  So here's to NEW BEGINNINGS and may you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy start to 2013.
